Company Overview
Botsogo Health Plan (BHP) is a Botswana registered medical aid scheme that entered the Botswana Market in 2005. Its accumulated funds are maintained and reinvested in Botswana. BHP is accredited by the Non-Bank Financial Institution Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA) and is a member of the Health Funders Association of Botswana (HFAB), representing the interests of those engaged in the medical scheme industry of Botswana. Botsogo Health Plan is administered by Metropolitan Health Botswana (MHB). An administration company that was launched, to cater for the medical insurance market in Botswana with the vision to use innovative products to provide affordable healthcare cover to more people in Botswana, in October 2004. MHB as an administrator forms part of Momentum Group in South Africa (A recognized financial service provider listed on the JSE).

Established in 2005 and through strategic acquisition and mergers, Botsogo Health Plan provides comprehensive cover with superior benefits in the market. It is a medical aid scheme administered by Metropolitan Health Botswana which is accredited by the Non-Bank Financial Institution Regulatory Authority (NBFIRA) and a member of the Health Funders Association of Botswana (HFAB). “We are all about Wellness.”

Since inception, Botsogo Health Plan prides itself in being the first medical aid in Botswana to offer 100% cover of the agreed tariffs to its members with no underwriting/waiting period for groups with more than 29 principal members. This means our members save on the customary 10% co-payment when accessing health care services, thus promoting access to private healthcare anytime of the month, giving members peace of mind, financial freedom, and immediate cover upon joining the scheme. However, for companies with 29 or less employees, Botsogo Health Plan offers products that attract a 10% co-payment on Outpatient services only but still maintains its value proposition of 100% cover of the agreed tariffs upon Hospitalization. Underwriting protocols will be observed for these groups if not joining from another funder but new to medical aid cover.
